I am so excited to announce that starting this month, we will have the distinct pleasure of working with two college students at Virginia Highlands Community College, located here in Abingdon, Virginia. Both Ethan and Trisha are a welcome addition to the workings of Elegant Elements by Zeigler. While I have been attending a Greenhouse Management course at the college and Barry has been traveling to various shows and festivals in the region, it’s been difficult to keep up a consistent posting schedule here on the blog. After collaboration with both of them, they’ve come up with a great first topic to get the ball rolling and we’ll be debuting their writing later this week. So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to our interns and let them speak for themselves…

 

 

 

Ethan Harless

Ethan Harless is a 19 year old student hailing from Abingdon, Virginia, currently a second year student at Virginia Highlands. Ethan was home schooled since 1st grade and enjoys working on small projects from home as a result. His interests revolve largely around creative writing, but he also enjoys playing and composing music and supporting his local church.

 

Trisha Lee

My name is Trisha Lee. I am 20 years old and I am a single parent. I live with my father and go to school full time. I do work-study through the school and listen to 1st graders read in the morning. I lived in Texas and went to high school there and graduated early. Right now I am in a work at home business. I am a business major. My daughter will be 2 years old in September. I am a business major at VHCC. I plan on going to King College after I graduate from Virginia Highlands Community College.

 

 

 

 

These two college students show a great deal of promise and already have busy lives with demands on their time. We couldn’t be more excited to have them come on board and get writing experience that they’ll no doubt take into their professional lives in the years to come.
